Can dolcet transition to regenerative farming

Climate Farmer since
2025

Farm History

  • It used to be a conventional strawberry farm, but the land was abandoned for the last 30 years.
  • Carlota bought the farm 3 years ago and found a land fully eroded and polluted, which she is now taking care of.

Previous practices

  • Agroforestry
  • Hydrological design
  • Organic matter in the soil

Investment costs

  • Intervention with big machines to develop the dams.
  • A new Greenhouse
  • Buying more plants.
  • Consultancy costs for the hydrological design
  • Fencing some areas
  • A woodchipper

New practices

Challenges we want to address with the transition

  • Keeping the area hydrated
  • Lack of organic matter in the soil
  • Topography of the land
  • The farm is located in a natural park with boars, deer, and birds, good to have biodiversity, but sometimes destroy part of the crops

I firmly believe we need real examples of producing food in a way that supports both the environment and the people.
My goal is to grow food while regenerating the land, rebuilding our connection with the community, and strengthening our own local economy. We need more good examples like that
.

— The reason why Carlota decided to transition to regenerative agriculture

Future ambitions

Producing a lot of quality food while regenerating the land.

Impact on my area and showing that this way of agriculture is a win-win.

Bring the reality of farming to many people who are disconnected from natural processes.
