Shaping the Future of Agricultural Science & Policy – From the Ground Up
We are dedicated to staying at the forefront of scientific discovery, ensuring that all our regenerative farming services are grounded in solid, up-to-date research. At the heart of this mission is our Research and Innovation Lab, where we explore a wide range of topics essential for advancing regenerative forms of agriculture.
Our broader mission: to amplify farmers’ voices and decision-making power across science, policy, and industry — while recognizing and rewarding their knowledge, time, and data.

Testimonials
“Climate Farmers Academy has been an active and valued partner in the Mission Soil Cluster from the outset. Their commitment to inclusive stakeholder engagement, particularly in amplifying farmers’ voices, has significantly contributed to the collaborative spirit of the cluster.”

Skills & Services
The Research and Innovation Lab of the Climate Farmers Academy is composed of a diverse team of scientists, developers, agronomists, project managers and business experts that contribute to projects with the following expertise:
Stakeholder Engagement & Policy-Science Transformation
Pioneering farmers & Lighthouse farms
We engage over 600 pioneering farmers across Europe through expert education, peer exchange, and hands-on workshops. This vibrant community shapes the future of regenerative farming by sharing knowledge and voicing their needs. Projects like BENCHMARKS bring these insights into soil health research and policy across 11 countries.
European and national policy makers
We amplify farmers’ voices in policy by supporting the founding of EARA and hosting the Climate Farming Conference. The resulting European Regenerative Agriculture Manifesto and collaborations with partners like the Club of Rome feed into ongoing policy work across Europe.
Building of policy-science-industry interface
We connect farmers, researchers, and the food industry to ensure that innovation is grounded in practice. Through co-creation formats, workshops, and exchange platforms, we help embed farmer perspectives directly into science and decision-making.
Communication & Collaboration
We lead communication and collaboration efforts across projects like BENCHMARKS and CAFAMORE. Our work includes setting up websites, social media, and internal channels to ensure clear information flow. A key strength of Climate Farmers Academy is facilitating cross-project exchange, exemplified by our role in initiating the EU Mission Soil Clusters.
Business models & exploitation
Regenerative Business Models
Our experienced economic experts develop, test, and implement regenerative business models for a fair and transparent food supply chain. These models combine fair remuneration for ecosystem services with the potential of digitalization, grounded in principles of fairness and transparency.
Sustainability of living labs and hubs
We leverage expertise from projects like IoF2020 and SmartAgriHubs to develop sustainable business and governance models for living labs and innovation hubs. Currently, we apply this knowledge in building five carbon farming living labs for LILAS4SOILS and managing the RIL Hub and farmers community.
Holistic Farm Health Monitoring
We use a holistic approach to measure the success of regenerative farming practices. Our MRV assesses improvements in the four main soil functions — nutrient cycling, water cycle, biodiversity, and climate regulation — as well as farmer wellbeing, economic viability, and the farm’s role in its local community.
Business Model Development & Visualization
By adapting innovative concepts from other industries, we co-create tailored business models for the food supply chain. Together with partners, we have designed visual tools that make these models easy to understand and apply, fostering transparency and shared innovation.
Technologies & Innovations
Digital MRV Solutions
We create digital tools that simplify monitoring and reporting of regenerative farming outcomes. By integrating data from farm systems, sensors, labs, and farmers, we reduce workload and ensure transparent, accurate measurement of soil health and ecosystem benefits.
AI & Big Data
We help make agricultural research data usable and connect it with farm-level data to generate actionable insights. Our work supports EU-wide data platforms — always with the principle that land managers own their data and benefit from practical decision-support tools.
Smart Equipment & Robotics
We support the development of lightweight, versatile robotic systems tailored to the complexity of regenerative farming. Our work focuses on open, swarm-based technologies that reduce soil compaction and offer affordable, adaptable solutions for seeding, weeding, monitoring, and harvesting.
Speed up and strengthen effective collaboration in European Ag-Innovation community
Our Research and Innovation Lab is one of the advisors and supporters of the Mission Soil Clusters, where over 100 representatives of 51 EU projects meet regularly to align their activities. The Mission Soil Platform is the one-stop shop to learn about Mission Soil and the opportunities to engage in its activities. It supports the roll-out of the Mission and related R&I activities, facilitates collaboration among the Mission Soil-funded projects, and increases awareness about the importance of soil, the challenges it faces and the solutions that exist thanks to the latest research results.
